Jeff Lynne of ELO -- does everything right by himself -- and understands the importance of flippancy
Eldar Djangirov -- 20 years old from Kazakstan -- perhaps the fastest precision jazz pianist ever. Fascinating to listen to.
Marc Antony -- wonderful male vocalist.
Paul McCartney -- still touring. still writing. We still need him and we still feed him, when he's 64.
Tony Bennett -- very old. Has a terrific new duets album out.

Good god some of these answers are sad. Most pepopel are answering groups not musicians tho so I guess I will follow suit.
Mine: Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Cult, The Doors, Guns & Roses, ACDC. (I know... more than 5) They are all old bands but all of these bands are great because they all produced music that was different from anything else at the time or influental to other artists somehow.

Ben Harper. He walks his walk, and isnt an @sshole tough guy wannabe like others are.
Bob Marley. Chill out music.
The Doors. though outdated, the memories of summer drinking and getting high reverb through relistening to this bands music.
Led Zeppelin. Had to be there I guess. acid and booze. wow, what a rush.
