I'm not reading Harry Potter- but I did and they were great books.
Currently reading Stephen King's Four Past Midnight, I'm on the last story, called "the Sun Dog".
When I'm finished with that, I have no idea what I will be reading...I better go to Barnes and Noble. I can't go a day without reading. I feel incomplete.
Oh, I also have been reading "The Icky Sticky Frog", "Moo Baa LaLaLa", "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", "Where the Wild THings Are", and many other childrens stories everyday to my son- I suppose that should count, too.
I am wondering how Harry Potter isn't literature. I wonder how many people said that about the LOTR trilogy after Tolkein wrote it....The Harry Potter story is very good, very complex, with sub-plots intertwined with the surface stories. I view Harry Potter as a modern-day Frodo.
But everyone has their opinion.

I used to read a book a day. Now that I have a baby, I am down to reading an average of a book a week.
I have read everything from Wolfram's "A New Kind of Science" to Larry Mcmurtry novels and everything in between.
I must say that I applaud JK Rowling for her help in getting children interested in reading again. Whether you consider it literature or not, is hardly the point. I have never read a book I did not learn SOMETHING from. Even if it is something as simple as a German word.
So I say to Harry Potter readers: Read on and enjoy!

Yes...I like to read.
The last series of Novels I read were the "Skystone" series by Jack Whyte.
I am now reading a series of Outlander novels written by Diana Gabaldon.
Reading is really a personal taste activity. The brillance of a good author will manifest in vivid scenes of imagination far better than any movie or television show. (Not that I don't like watching a movie or tv program once in a while)
Try reading before retiring for the night. It's habit forming.

Does Nicholas Sparks count?
I do read Harry Potter too!
But the last book I read was The Da Vinci Code... I didn't really like it. I was expecting some big secret to be revealed, but it was a big let down in my opinion.

I'm reading The Seeing Stone Book1. It's about this young boy named Arthur who sees visions of his namesake, King Arthur. It's really nice, though I've just started it. And, so you're a bookworm too? I love reading.....Let's start a Yahoo Group for Book Lovers.

I'm reading The Wizard's Promise, it's a great book if you like magic and adventures. It's the 3rd book in a trilogy and I don't even have books 1 and 2!

I'm reading a couple now, I wanted to start my new Stephen King (and don't tell me that is not literature, it is) and I'm also finishing Women of the Silk, by Gail Tsukiyama. Live to read, read to live.
