A pie is a type of baked dish, usually round, with a dough crust enclosing a filling. When the filling is sweet, pies are often eaten for dessert; savory pies are also common, particularly with meat fillings.
However, since this question is in the Math category, I'm guessing you're asking about pi (π). π is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. For example, if you have a circle with a diameter of 1 inch, then the circumference (the distance all around the circle) will be π inches. π is approximately equal to 3.1415926+; it is an irrational and transcendental number, and as a result threw the Ancient Greek mathematicians into conniptions trying to compute its value.

pi is the formula used to determine the circumference of a circle with only the arc as information. That is a portion of the circle provides enough information to accurately calculate its diameter if put into a standard mathematical formula.
