There has been no conclusive evidence as to why the numerous tragedies have happened over that area. Anything gathered has been purely speculation.

If everybody know out there, why it still called secret?
This called myth, not secret.
Methane hydrates
Main article: Methane clathrate
An explanation for some of the disappearances focuses on the presence of vast fields of methane hydrates on the continental shelves. A paper was published in 1981 by the United States Geological Survey about the appearance of hydrates in the Blake Ridge area, off the southeastern United States coast.[4] Periodic methane eruptions may produce regions of frothy water that are no longer capable of providing adequate buoyancy for ships. If this were the case, such an area forming around a ship could cause it to sink very rapidly and without warning. Laboratory experiments have proven that bubbles can, indeed, sink a scale model ship by decreasing the density of the water.

The Puerto Rico trench runs through the Bermuda Triangle, the deepest point in the Atlantic ocean, Estimated to be 30,000 feet deep. This may cause unexpected magnetic and ocean currents to mess with most navigational aides. Either that or you can believe in hocus pocus.

There isn't any. There is nothing going on there that isn't going on anywhere else in the ocean. The myth may have arisen because wind currents in that area tend to be iight and variable, making navigation of saiing ships difficult.
