try using a flexible piece of plastic like a credit card or bank card and slide it down the crack of the door along the lock. Once you get to the lock area you will need to apply pressure to release the lock.

You can always remove the door knob by unscrewing the screws holding it in place. You can also remove the door from the hinges and take it down, but it will be bear to get back on. If you are having trouble doing either of those things you can actually phone a locksmith, the police or the fire department and they will come to help you. I would definately change the doorknobs, so that she cannot lock them in the future. If you are still wanting the option to lock the door yourself you can always put latching locks or chain locks up high out of her reach.

some door mechanisms have a small hole on the outside, center of door knob-use a nail or some object about the same size and push to unlock. If not this type lock use a thin piece of sheet metal to push in at the the latching bolt[ between door latch and door fram metal plate] to force it back far enought to open the door.

I'd try the credit card idea. Or a butter knife. On the door jamb there is a small piece of wood called a stop that runs the height of the door. The door "stops against it. If you push a butter knife behind that straight towards the center line of the lock it should depress the plunger. You may have to crack a little paint or cause a few scratches on the door jamb to do this. But it's better than kicking it in! Good luck.

I have never seen a bathroom door knob without a hole in it????? 2 ways. Get a screwdriver or flat steel object and slide it between the door and push the locking mech open. Otherwise, kick in the door and replace the area you just ruined.

If she stuck in there now. Pull the door handle in towards you, slide a credit card, using one of the round edge first towards the strike plate. The strike plate will be in line with the door handle. push the door in. If it doesn't catch at first, wiggle and giggle back and forth holding the door in and push open. You want to get the edge of the credit card in the hole of the strike plate, this will depress the cylinder allowing the door to open.
