What is the safe way to bring my old computer from Ahmedabad to Mumabi ? can anybody tell me...?
By bus, Train, Courier or others.......?
What will be the cost ?
Will I have to pay Octroi etc. in mumbai ??

Please pack it properly and correct way.
Then carry it to the railway station. Carry it urself. Come by train alongwith the packaged cartons. This will ensure that the PC is not abused anywhich way while in transit. Keep the packages either under the seats or on the sleeper berths where u r seating.
This is the only way u can bring ur computer from any city to any city without any harm to the computer.

As others said I suggest -pack it well and bring by train. Very less vibrations and safer. I dont think octroi applies but be sure to carry the bill because Railway authorities do ask for the bill while they check your tickets and see the computer packages. Some times there could be checking by the tax authorities also. Play it safe and have the bill with you. Good Luck.

An old one, sell off at Ahmedabad itself and have a new one. Or go by train, use thermocol sheets. Even the movers and packers can pack it to your utter satisfaction at a nominal price. But carry it with you in train.
Or if you have your own four wheeler, take in it and drive straight without paying any octroi, etc.
Packaging should not cost more than 200 bucks.

In my opinion courier would be best...the cost would be based on the weight of your item and the distance...but it would be more safely handled when compared to bus and train!!

Train will be a good option coz railway is safe and your comp will not suffer jeks..its will be safe

Use the OEM PACKING.OR PACK IT LIKE THAT.
TRAIN IS GOOD.
NO OCTROI-KEEP THE BILL WITH YOU SINCE IT IS A OLD COMPUTER.
