The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I posted links for you in the source box pertaining to starting a business in Florida as well as a cleaning business.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

Florida Specific:

* How to Start a Business in Florida by Entrepreneur Press
* How to Start a Business in Florida, 7E by Mark Warda

Cleaning Business Specific:

* Start and Run a Home Cleaning Business by Susan Bewsey
* Start Your Own Cleaning Service (Entrepreneur Magazine's Start Ups) by Jacquelyn Lynn

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

1. Check with your state website for business licensing. www.fla.gov
2. Check with your local city hall for any city requirements
3. DO NOT GET BONDING, it's not needed and a waste of money unless a customer specifically require a bond and you can add the cost to their bill.
4. You must get liability insurance if only to protect yourself. Get at least $500,000 in general liability, premium should be around $600 a year.
5. Go to the website below, it is a free site, they have a deal with an insurance company that can get you discounted quotes on your policy at no cost to you.
6. Utilize the other links below and do some industry research, read everything available to you. Find out what your competition is doing, see what works for other companies elsewhere and do it too.

You will be surprised how much paperwork you will have to do. You will need a Business License, and you may need a Police Permit as well. You may also need a permit to use and to store hazardous fluids.

Only if you make over 300 bucks a year, and live in a city or county. Liability insurance, or get bonded.
