No, however I can only imagine how hard that would be. Never mind the poor infant who is going through detox and possible birth defects due to the drug use.

I havent, but i know somone who has and personally i am glad. Once they did she just went back on the streets and starting doing drugs all over again forgetting that she had a baby and should clean up. Plus she had 3 other kids. So she doesnt deserve to be a mother. Anyone doing drugs while they are pregnant shouldnt be a mother. We are here to protect and nurture the baby not cause harm to it. So I am all for that.

No, but I know of some children who were born to drug addicts/users who were put in foster care, then adopted by loving parents. It does happen. The courts can take your child from you if you are using because they will see you as someone who could be a danger to yourself and possibly your child.

But, there are a lot of places that can help to get off drugs, so that you can be a great mother and be in a healthier lifestyle. If you try to stop and eat healthy, take the prenatal vitamins and surround yourself with loving, supportive people, then both mom and baby have a good chance!! Things can change and there is always hope.

If the mother is choosing to do drugs that close to a delivery, then the baby should be taken away. Obviously the mother doesn't care about the baby's health, so why give the baby to her. There are plenty of families out there who would give anything to have a baby. Serves the mother right!

The only thing I can tell you is that I had my kids taken away for the fact that I still had alcohol on my breath. I did not drink or consume any drugs while I was pregnant, and yes, they can take your kids. I even tried not to smoke. i also know of parents who don't give a F*** and their children come out deformed because their Mother did not take care of herself. LOL

when i had my second son (in march of this year), a woman came in and said that my baby couldn't leave with me because i had tested positive for barbituates. well, i was so confused, not to mention completely infuriated because i took care of myself and knew i had done nothing wrong. i insisted they test me again, and both retests came back negative. they decided to retest the original urine sample they had gotten from me and after 3 days of going through investigation, it turns out they had made a mistake. the original came back negative and well, i'm surprised i didn't fight someone to be honest.

i think parents who care that little about the health of an even unborn child could not possibly have the ability to care about a living child enough. i feel sorry for those who are weak enough to choose drugs over a baby. i don't think mothers having their first child understand how much you'll love the child once you meet him/her and watch them grow. and that's sad.

where do I start?

pregnant junkies make me so sad - they chose the fete of their baby, they risk birth defects, deformity and behavioural problems.

they actually aren't in a situation to look after a baby if they can't even look after themselves. I am all for the baby being placed in a more kind, healthier atmosphere that puts them first not after the drugs. and its the people in charge of this that should be adament in following this up - to make sure the kid is being raised in a friendly, non-abusive, understanding household with lots of love.
poor babies are in so much pain when they are going through the withdrawals.

Yes, in many states if mom tests pos. for drug use, the baby will be put right into protective custody.

I haven't had it happen because I don't do drugs but yes that is what happens to moms who test positive for drug use. Serves them right if you ask me.
