It's really up to you what you prefer. If you have enough money to buy either then it should be what you like. I believe both are great cars. I just prefer MB because BMW's are more sporty and have a lot of innovations which many times need to be changed by manufacturer because they eventually don't pass the driving "tests" during usage by customers. MB is more reliable (MB never uses new never-tested before innovation that might not pass and might be unsafe for their customers) and the best luxury car in the world so don't listen to the first answerer since it seems that he/she just don't like to spend so much money on the car (different people=different opinions).

Well for a Mercedes ML the 98-02 were the worst and had many problems the 03-05s were better but if u want an ML get the 06 or newer (All MLs are made in the USA not good). The new GL450 is also made in Alabama. The best like a previous post said the G-wagen.The BMW is also made in the US but does not have as many problems as the ML but is not made to go off-road. If your'e going to get an SUV, get a real one. That excludes the M-class and the BMW. Don't even consider the Porker. Look at the Mercedes-Benz G class, the Gelandewagen. Made in Austria, designed for European armies by Steyr. Or get a Land Cruiser from the folks from Nippon.

first of all that answerer calnickel is 100% WRONG! the mercedes would be better than a suburban and a tahoe anyday! mercedes would be the better deal, maybe on the expensive side but its altogether different! try the new m class or the gl class very nice suv's!

I personally like the Mercedes more. I mean both the X5 and the X3 is "eh..." I think MB is even a bit more spacious inside.

Neither. They are both graceless vehicles that discrace the manufacturer's names and are primarily owned by credit posers.

If you really want to buy an SUV. buy a real one like a Tahoe or a Suburban.

Or buy a 5 series or an E class.

damn ***** , u get urself a nice gl450 mercedes or chill for the gl55 amg, dunt waste ur money on a ******* x5 man and that boy talking about tahoes and surburbans, that boy dosent know **** about cars yo. he spittin **** 2 u. man get urself some g 500 or gl450. depends on ur cash tho if u wanna spend it. and get some nice rimz on that whip some 24". u gonna hit the chics real bad

if you want plenty of second looks you should go with the Mercedez-Benz g55AMG. i own one myself and everybody stares in amazement only one problem it is pricy but worth it!
