Being a man I can't offer the kind of suggestions most ladies have offered here. But I can tell from 3 personal experiences and suggestions used by my friends.
Assuming that everything with you (and your partner) is physically OK, conception is not just about timing but also fun. Different women have different cycles, plus the complexity of precise ovulation time is never perfectly understood.
The best period for conception starts from the 12th day of the last day of your period, right upto the 17th day (i.e about 5 days).
I can't emphasise enough that sex has to ENJOYED WITH ALL YOUR SENSES. And this will happen ONLY WHEN you banish all expectations about having a baby, and enjoy the act for the pure purpose of fun. Tell your partner (and also yourself), "forget the baby...it'll come when its due, but let's enjoy like we've never before".
Having said this, try the following tips:
1) Ask your partner to abstain sex for 2-3 days starting from the 9th day after your period. This is just to get him (and you) hyper-excited and with a 'sac' full of jism.
2) Avoid alcohol during sex. Despite all that you may hear, alcohol cuts down potency
3) From the 12th to the 17th day have as much sex as possible, but certainly not less than once -a-day. REMEMBER that having fun should be more important than expecting the baby.
4) Missionary position is best suited to hold the sperms deep inside you. After the act lie on your back for 10-12 minutes to give the 'budding babies' full chance to rise upto the egg.
Finally, I'd suggest you RELAX and let the baby come when he/she wants to. Just enjoy sex, and if the timing is right the stork will surely fly by your home !!!
Good luck.

go here....sign up for free. http://www.cyclespage.com/ log in as many months as you can (go back as far as you can remember) and the calendar will tell you how long your cycle is, and give you a range of days for when you are fertile. this is very basic and assumes your luteal phase is 14 days. your luteal phase are the numbers of days--PASSED ovulation and it is the same every month---and usually about 12-16 days. but 14 is average. it is very important that you know your cycle length. for ex, if you have a 28 day cycle---you ovulate on day 14. or 14 days before your next period. however, if you have a 24 day cycle then you would ovulate day 10, or 14 days before your next period. if you have a 35 day cycle then you ovulate on day 21, or 14 days before your next period. So, if you do not have a 28 day cycle---you could be missing the mark if people are telling you to have sex around day 14. GOT IT?? Also, you tend to have vaginal discharge--clear when you are fertile--BEST TIME!!! Good luck!!

My doctor told me that when I was ready to conceive just to have sex every other day and that would make my chances as good as they could get. If you have a normal period like say a 28 day one then you would be most likely to ovulate 2 weeks after your period. That is what I went by and got pregnant on the first try an am now almost 21 weeks. Good luck!

your most fertile time is during ovulation. Ovulation occurs between 11-14 days from the day you got your period. In your case you will ovulate between the 8/11/06-14/11/06.
If you have been trying.. dont give up! Try around your more fertile time. GOOD LUCK... YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Your most fertile day (peak day) is the one where your cervical fluid represents eggwhite and when held between the forefinger and thumb may stretch between 1" & 2". The cervical fluid leading up to your peak day may be creamy or just appear wet. Do not worry if you do not have eggwhite as creamy will do (just need lots of it in order for the sperm to swim & survive). In order to differentiate which day's to have intercourse start checking the first clear day after your period. Also, to check when you have ovulated, take your waking temperature from the first clear day and record it. You should see a pattern whereas the temperature does not increase rapidly until the day after you have ovulated confirming that it has happened.

If you are really wanting to get pregnant I would suggest going to your OB/GYN. They can give you a prescription for a fertility
medication. Usually the drug Clomid is given. They will also give you a chart so that you will know your best time to try and conceive. Also another tip is to try every other day so that the
males sperm count can be stronger and higher. Good Luck!

Brandi, you are aware that to get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.
After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.
After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.
Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.
