We want to have a baby. But not sure where to start. i don't want to trick someone into doing it, but I don't want to go to an overly expensive bank, if im not ovulating on time and waste the money. Does anyone knows how these banks work, or where can we go? Im in Michigan, anyone know any websites, where can we start.

I don't want to hear from you facist creeps who say lesbians shouldn't have babies, because it's going to happen anyway s shut the hell up.

You can go to a fertility clinic, your OB GYN can probably help.

My lesbian friends had me to donate in home....the basic turkey baster method.

The key with amateur method is to have a good written contract so both parties legal rights are preserved. I, for one, didn't want 20 years from now to get hit with a request for back child support. My friends didn't want the risk of me deciding I wanted custody or visitation or something. We had a lawyer draw up a simple document that put us all at ease....and I believe saved our friendship.

Good luck with whatever method you choose.

Good for you! I won't be much help though, because I don't know how to go about it in the first place. My partner and I have yet to discuss this in our relationship. You can sorta say that we're still testing the waters, you know. 3 1/2 years is not that long a time period for a relationship, even if we do know each other inside out already. But I just wanna congratulate you and your partner on your decision. Best of luck!

a couple in va. had a party. all the men had to do their business in a cup and pour it into a turkey baster.
ABSOLUTELY TRUE.
the state tried to take the baby from the mothers (because they are lesbians - not because they are 'bad mothers') . when the state found out they would have to pay for dna testing for all the men (who didn't want the child, but wanted to help them) they decided to drop the case.

Have you considered a surrogate father? All you need is a man who you generally admire who is in good health and is willing to donate sperm even though he understands that he will have little or nothing to do with the baby born of his donation.

do you know any gay guys who might want to contribute...I know nothing about sperm banks but any GLBT center should be able to help you....you might ask some guy if he wants to ...but I'd be very careful because of possible legal complications if you do become pregnant...good luck...I'd do it for you if I could...without sex even.
You might get some help from barbara finley in vancouver (she doesn't use capitals in her name)...just google in lesbian lawyers vancouver canada...and you should see her name and home page...but all the info will be for canadian lesbians..but it might be a start.

Do either of you have a brother? Get him to inseminate the other. It may be kinda of weird, but then the child will share both your DNA.
