16 yr olds aren't mature enough to understand what is all going on out on the roads. Understand the power they are in control of and the damage it can cause.

Most are still playing video games and can easily take driving just as another video game.

I was 16 and I drove like a flat up maniac, it is a miracle I didn't cause or have more accidents. Looking back, I shouldn't of had my license till 18 if not 21.

Plus everyone else has to pay for the fact of the 16-18 yr olds and their driving habits. They cause the most accidents and that inflates insurance rates that we all have to pay.

I dont believe kids are mature or responsible enough at 16 and 17 to be driving. In CT there are restrictions on when and where you can drive and with whom, on kids untill they are 18. I am sure this has cut down the number of accidents caused by kids but it doesnt eliminate them.16 and 17 year olds should be worrying about getting their homework done and thinking about prom and not whether or not there will be traffic on the way home.

in a way i think it should ,i was allowed to get mine at 16 though ,and do we have the right to decide that now young people don't have the right to drive until there 18,what if it had happened to us at that age, would we be mad over it,i would think so,but there's one thing we all have to agree on ,and the cars a lot faster these days and a lot smaller, and a lot more kids are getting killed in cars than when we started driving,so who,s choice is it,ours ,,or there,s,either way you step on someones rights, something to think about ,good luck,i hope this help,s.

This suggestion was based on a 4 year study on accidents based on age of new drivers involved.
You guessed it. The lower the age group, the more accidents.
If you ask me, I dont mind young drivers, but the study is very persuasive.

in South Dakota you can get your learners at 14 and once you have that for 120 days you can get your restricted, than when you turn 16 it changes to a operators licence. I didnt get my learners until I was 16.
