Sounds like a contraction.
Also the best way to bring on labor is to have sex.
Good luck.

I have to agree with the answer that included the fact that baby usually doesn't move around when you're having a contraction.
I was terrified that I wouldn't know when I was in labor with my first child. We lived in Germany at the time and the trip to the hospital was pretty long. I remember calling the hospital late one night asking about this very situation. The nurse who answered basically told me to shut up and go to bed. It was rude, and didn't make me feel any better, but I was not having regular or productive contractions so they wouldn't have kept me at the hospital anyway.
When you are able to time the contractions and see that they are coming closer and closer together, that's when you will be ready for the delivery.
Please don't do the Castor oil thing. It can be very dangerous and extremely unpleasant. I nearly dehydrated myself after trying the generally suggested "treatment". What people don't tell you about it is that it gives you diarrhea, it is intended to clean out your system, and seriously, you have plenty of stress coming to your body soon enough.
Nipple stimulation and vaginal intercourse are historically very successful, if the time is right! The truth of the matter is, that sweet baby of yours will come when he or she is good and ready.
Best wishes!

This happened to me when I went into labor. I would see how many mins apart it is and when they start getting closer together I would call my doctor and let them know. Try not to stay anywhere that there is carpet in your house because if your water breaks it pretty much ruins your carpet. I was also told by my doctor that if you roll your nipples it will hurry the process up and have sex a lot because there is something in a mans sperm that makes it go faster too. I was only in labor a couple of hours before my daughter was born. Good Luck!

It sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions. Usually "real" contractions do not harden the stomach, but remember, everyone labors differently. I have several friends who said they experienced increased Braxton Hicks and stomach disturbance (gas, loose stool) the day before going into labor. Have you started timing the pains? As far as inducing, nothing worked for me, but MANY woman swear that sex is the ultimate way to get labor started. One friend jokes, "sex is what got us here, and it's what brings us home". LOL You just have to be desperate enough to try. :) Congratulations!!!!

Usually the baby wont move when you are having a contraction because it is constricting the baby's space so i doubt these are true contractions. As far as inducing, relax, take a warm bath, drink a small galss of wine and just relax. Walking will just make your feet swell, oh, sex does may help as well. Good luck.

One of the best ways to induce labor and also the natural way is to have sex....(if u are still allowed by your ob/gyn) there is a hormone in sperm that studies have shown leads to inducing labor....but as always check this out with your dr.

Sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions, but it may be the beginning of true labour. Contact your doctor to be sure. Ideas to help induce labour? Try having sex, yes that really works!

Probably contraction.
Deep intercourse, castor oil, and stimulating your nipples can all help induce labor, my friend did all three, and had her son VERY shortly after.
If you have a breast pump, do it on each side for 30 minutes they said.
GOOD LUCK!
P.S.
I wouldn't go into the hospital till 1. your dr. says come in
2.you water breaks, they will just send you home
