Why do my guy friends and guys at work (I work at a Barbeque Pit) feel the need to tease/joke with me constantly!? I know they are just joking, but it makes me wonder why they pick on me? It's the poking, pushing, messing with hair, sexual inuendos, etc. that goes on daily and it's quite frustrating! Guys if you do this why?? Does it mean they do not like you or what?? I have had my guy friends say I'm fun to tease, and I don't understand why, I'm just like anyone else they know, so why pick on ME?! I'm 17 btw.
I'm just confused cause I know guys are usually gentleman and charming to girls they like, and then if they HATE you I guess they ignore you right?
I tell them to shut up and to screw them or something just joking of course..which they know..and then they are like "no we can't screw now, maybe later..."
GUYS!! when will they grow up?! lol

I usually tease the ones I really like and the ones that overly react to teasing.

They don't grow up! Some people are just fun to tease because people know you won't take it seriously. I get teased a lot and I tease back as well. Sometimes it means they like you as more than a friend but don't assume this is true with everyone. If they take it too far let them know, if not just enjoy it and have fun.

Well, sweetie, if this is an ongoing problem, then obviously something is rewarding and encouraging them to continue. I would guess that it has something with how you react to their teasing. Plus they sound pretty immature, so maybe they just haven't learned yet how to treat women respectfully. You'll be doing everyone a big favor if you help them learn that lesson.

Sounds like you are the only female there . If this is the case I'd say it's like on the Nature Channel where all the males bide for the female , they aren't even aware of what they are doing , I'll bet . It seems funny but it is natural animal behavior .

It is called Sexual harassment. Reguardles of whether guys like you or not, they should show respect and professionalism at the workplace. If they fail to do this, they should be reported. Tell them firmly that you expect it to stop immediately and if it does not stop, report it. It is important that you do not laugh or act the way they do or you might be sending mixed messages.

That's called SEXUAL HARRASSMENT, .. I can't believe this question is even real.. I'm guessing they like to muck around with you when they come in and think they are having fun with you not at your expense. People like you are great asset to have on the front line.
