There have been and will always be lots of women who will do porn. I try not to judge them because I don't know what could have happened to them in their lives to lead them into that world.

I know! I can't believe it either. When they're so young, I get a little frightened for them. Such bad things can happen- actualy physical danger, as well as STD's, emotional and psychological health issues when it comes to shame, guilt, and so on. It shouldn't be something you lightly decide on.
That said, I believe there are a lot who do have respect for themselves, and I have respect for those who have repsect for themselves (does that make sense?). Like someone else said, ther can be exhibitionists out there who enjoy what they're doing. Or anytime that couples decide together to do porn, I'm not really against it (they do it anyways, what's so different about it being taped?). There are those who are truly sex positive and find wonderful studios and individuals to work with, like Carol Queen in producing Bend-Over Boyfriend, etc.. Some have no problem with sex and do it for the money, leading completely enjoyable lives, as much as that may seem foreign to us. A lot actually take pride in rising to big careers in porn, becoming legendary, like Candida Royalle.
Basically, pornography fills a need in society. I would absolutely love and condone it if everything was done incredibly safely and with a lot of higher standards. As is, I still enjoy it and respect those who do it, although I worry about the poor little dears.

There are many reasons for this. One being that it is more socially acceptable. While Maxim and FHM are not technically porn, they can be found in every store in the nation. The internet has made hardcore porn more accessable. People are being exposed to porn at a much younger age then ever before. Many of these girls come from broken homes and single parent homes. There is also the lure of easy money. sadly porn is the only industry where women make more then men.

with a more accepting and open mind towards sexuality many people in the world have opted to take off their clothes for a living.
I know a few of those people, they often are well respected kind people who happen to be using their assets to make money.
I have respect for them, I also respect their choices.
If you don't agree with porn, then don't view it, don't buy it, rent it, and look into the products and companies which makes it, or sponsors it and boy-cot them. I respect your right to not like it just as I respect their right to do it.

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. There is a lot of hype, lies, and misconception about girls and porn. Not all are mentally scarred by sexual abuse, drug addicts, or suffer from low self-esteem(I think fat girls are more that). I have had clients who fit neither of those catagories. they were from decent homes, had not drug habits they were feeding and certainly was not abused. They only did stripping and pole dancing but they seen it as pretty much just another job. Only they could make in three days what would have took them 2 weeks working 5 days a week at 6 hours aday or more to earn. And they did not get trapped in it. some only did it to earn extra for really cool vacations. Once they got that, they quit. I have heard that there are girls in Japan who go into porn right after high school. Work in it from 3 months to a couple of years for the quick cash for school, then leave the industry.
I would have to say with the explosion of the Internet, the digital cam, and camcorder, it is easy for anyone to produce a wide veriety of porn. even low level homegrown porn. Or a way to swap with other people. So when I see the amount of ladies(fresh from graduation and those who could be grannies)taking it off in strip teases all the way to the hard core raw stuff, I have to remind myself that sex has been basically reduced to a commodity here in America. It is not the special sacred act of two people it once was.
I have a hypocritical view of them. One the one hand I have much respect for them(those who do not hide their identity). they believe they look good or they are sure enough in themselves to be viewed naked and they are cashing in on it. Why not make a profit off any asset you have? Be it singing, stripping, or building fences? On the other hand I would not really want a girl who everyone else has seen or who have s*** more d**** then there are ducks flying South for the winter. I want to believe I am her only if not one of the few who had the honor of tapping those suger walls. Mostly I see it as empowering for them. because they can get men to spend money which if they are on top of it, get to flow into their pockers
Sure, when they put themselve out there one day they might have to do some explaining to their kids or grand kids. But they do not have anything less to hide from then regular girls who give up booty calls. Those girls getting boinked for free just have less evidence to their sins for their kids to find out.

It blows me away too, but I have respect for anyone who blows me away. The women in porn do it because they like it. Self respect to them is a sexual act, just like it is for many men. It isn't any more demeaning to women than it is to men to participate in a normal porno. So just relax, pop in a dvd and let it blow you away.

with the decadent state of society combined with the laziness of people now i can easily see why they respect the buying power of the dollars they recieve and as for others respecting them i dont think they give a damn since no one is going to give or do anything for them except ask for the same thing with no camera rolling

I think that they see it as a quick way to earn money and don't see the drawbacks. They may also be addicted to the money or drugs and porn is the only way for them to get it.

Maybe they like doing it. Some people are exhibititionists -- they like to be seen / watched. What does that have to do with self respect?
