Local library, historical society, newspaper for old issues, county courthouse for a archive section with peoples remembrances, local college for history dept as they may have some records. When you find these things write them down and find a way to publish it. That way it will not be lost. In the county my family comes from the kids back in the 1920's interviewed the pioneers for school. The stories were published in the town paper. In the 30's a guy wrote a book with all the essays and other things. In the 80's the book was republished for the town centeniall. I have a copy. I will pass it along to my son. History is alive if you look for it. Ask your neighbors if your town is small, there may be diaries etc. Maybe you will be the person to write your town's history. Good luck in your search

Mine's easy. There's this little, bitty building, in the middle of downtown, called the Alamo...

But, to answer YOUR inquiry... I recommend one of two things-- or both. Go to your city hall and see what you can find there about the history of your town. And/Or go to your local public library and ask to see records and/or any historical documentation on the founding of your town. Any historical markers in your town? Your town DOES have a history... you just have to do a little detective work to uncover it. Good luck!
