I tend to be a skeptic in these matters. But I'll keep an open mind.

First of all, *no* scientists think there is intelligent life on the 7th planet from the sun.

I'm starting to doubt there is any on the 3rd......

There may be something about this in the Urantia book:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urantia_Book

which isn't about Uranus as one might think, but allegedly about Earth. I just free associated from the word Uranus to Urantia and looked it up on the Wiki.

Many people answering your query will go for the Uranus joke, and some may even mention Klingons which may be circling it, but I bet I am the only one to bring up this old fave in the 1970's Hippie Metaphysics library!

As you ponder the many "bibles" of our species and our attempts to solve our intellectual questions of origin, perhaps your question will be answered in this way: The answer is found in the question of what the hell we think intelligence is, anyway.

PS: Last time I visited the 7th planet I ate at a restaurant that was very good, and the waitercreature anticipated my order. I'd say that's a sign of intelligence (don't drink the water).

Sure why not...course I doubt that they would come here...the environment woudl be too harmful to them...the heat and the atmosphere would either cook them or poison them. There is also a theory that some sort of life may exist on one of Saturns moons since it does have liquid water under the ice....maybe not intelligent life...but life...either way it wouldn't surprise me too much. With the discovery of living organism in some of the most inhospitable environments on this planet...the possibility of life on other planets in the system makes sense....course knowing us humans...if we do discover an intelligent species on Uranus...it will probably be wiped out by the discoverers for religious reasons....that seems to be the way things are done.....discover a new people, disagree with the fact that they don't follow the religion of the firrst to make contact...then slaughter as many of them as possible....after all...when was the last time you talked to an Aztec?

I'm glad you'll keep an open mind about Uranus.
It's such a dark, unknown place. There could be great things in store between you and Uranus! You never know!

Maybe you could be the lucky one to go explore Uranus. But I'm sure whatever brave voyager heeds the call to Uranus, he will find great great satisfaction in opening up Uranus for everyone else to investigate, be amazed by, and fall in love with. I, in fact, love Uranus already. Let's tell the world~!

why not? everything is possible --glad to hear your mind is open to new territories -- the sun, the moon, other planets -- list is limitless. we still have many surprises to come. by the way where the hell is that seventh planet -- could we connect by email or post? to tell you the truth our post man has enough difficulty to deliver around the corner -- another planet will kill his ambition but not his salary -- he will be on a sick leave. hope you do get the right answer. i only tried.

I am not even sure there is much intelligent life on this, third planet from the sun, so let's forget about figuring it out for the seventh or eight planet, buddy. Ok?

Meanwhile let's get busy figuring out ways to save it from pre-mature extinction, behaving intelligently may be?!

Let them figure out that for themselves, should we?

I don't know. If it's anything like the life here on earth I would tend to debate the "intelligent" part.

No...It's Europa, a moon of Jupiter that has been the object of some speculation along this line...However, i don't think any scientist thinks it would be evolved much beyond micro-organisms...To summarize, Europa-not Uranus and non-intelligent.

I doubt it. We have yet to find intelligent life on the 3rd planet from the sun.
