Yup many of times. Surprised I didn't get Ivory Soap poisoning like "Ralphie" on A Christmas Story.

Never pepper, but yes I did have to wash my mouth out with soap. I was crying and got tears in there also.

No but my grandmother put a bar of soap in my mouth once when I was 4 and I said the "F" word.

Yep....whenever I said a word that was not appropriate for children,(which was all the time) my mom would grab the bar of Coast and make me hold it in my mouth for a minute, I think....seemed like hours. Yuck!!!

whoa peeper and soap eeek i got bars of soap and liquid and when the y were out of that it was the caps to perfume bottles

Yes,they only had to do it four or five times though.I quickly learned not to use foul language.While I admire their courage to discipline , I can't do it with my own children.However this method worked well on me and my siblings.
