Well it is not their responsibility to feed the starving millions, I just think it's ridiculous that grown men get paid to kick a ball and pull someones legs from under them so their faces slam into the dirt.

In a liberal democracy wherein there is no restriction on the exchange of, and payment for , goods and services, those who are very good at what they do earn far above the average wage.
In Western societies, the top doctors, lawyers, engineers, hedge fund managers, software entrepreneurs, architects, restaurant owners, chefs, TV presenters, talk show hosts, accountants are all multi-millionaires.
It is simple; If you have a talent, ability or a body of knowledge that is in demand and you are intent on becoming well-off, your spouse, parents and children will never lack anything that they want or need.
Would you rather live under a highly-censored Politburo-led, Mugabe-style communist dictatorship with a top-down, rigidly-controlled command economy??? Would you??
I say, live and let live. More power to the footballers legs. I try to be happy at the successes of others. I try to live without jealousy or envy.
What with injuries, squad rotation and the ruthlessly efficient transfer system, a footballer in a top-division league eg the Premiership, Serie A[Italy], dieBundesliga[Germany], La Liga[Spain], or Holland's Eredivisie tend to have a top-flight career spanning only 7-12 years, 15 years maximum.

Why just footballers? What about Mr Ross and company, the salaries they are on at the BBC is scandalous. What about Mr McCartney and company the millions that they are worth? What about company directors and their salaries?Grand prix drivers a million pounds a race. There an awful lot of people earning as much if not more than footballers, but it is allways the footballers that get singled out.At least the footballers don't flee the country to become tax exiles like many pop/film stars do.

football is a working class sport. It costs nothing to kick a ball or a tin can around a back street. Then, when someone spots you as bieng good, they train you up. Buy you clothes do your hair promote you, this costs money. Then, because the footballer is good, he starts demanding more money, because of his coke sniffing wives and his hair doos, and his fake tan. All this is in line with the way things are in that game, and belive me, it is a game, nothing o do with poverty....it stemd from poverty, now they are just enjoying all the money they can get, they already have lived in poverty. Poverty creates genius.

The CEO's of this country make 100 times what athletes make why aren't they accountable in your scenario? What about televangelists? They make millions hand over fist preaching "righteousness" without helping anyone but themselves. I've never heard of athletes spending money and leaning on political figures but religious leaders are continually spending millions on political figures that further their agendas. If they were really concerned with what Jesus was teaching wouldn't they be spending that money helping the poor and sick? If all the televangelists in the world spent all the money they took in on poverty instead of furthering their political gain, there would be no more hunger. What would Jesus do?

Is anything fair in Britain today?
Is it fair that fat cat bosses pay themselves 100% pay rises each year (plus bonuses) whilst their workers - the real makers of their money - are paid a cost of living increase?
Is it fair that immigrants and refugees can access all our benefits without having paid a single penny into the system, when natives are denied the same benefits?
Life just isn't fair.

No it is not fair I know people that work 3X harder that these "players" and struggle a lot more and have to live on less.
Maybe if people did not watch sports as much they pricing would go down, this is ridiculous it truly is.
