have your sister to get what she wants, then that'll be fair.

You did not mention your own age or how close you are to your sister. When I was young and my brother or I wanted something controversial, we engaged one another's help in approaching the parents. Since it is your sister's feelings your parents have raised in objection, you should have a little talk with her and see if you can get her to join your crusade for a phone. You should be sensitive to her feelings and if she says no, do not be upset or push it. Hopefully, you can be the perfect diplomat, make your sister feel good toward you, and get her to help you. Then, you put your parents on the spot by overcoming their objection about your sister's feelings.

All of this depends on how good of a brother you have been and how your sister feels about you. If that's not good, I wouldn't expect her help.... although you might offer to do some of her chores or something.

It is also important that you show the level of maturity your parents need to see in order to approve your plan. If they say no now.... give them a month or two of being a mature, dependable, wonderful son. Then you might find a time to ask them again. I'm a parent and have been known to change my mind when I saw my daughters could handle something with maturity.

If the answer is an absolute no, you may have to accept it and wait until you are 16. Cell phones did not exist when I was your age and I survived. I realize you are growing up in a totally different teen culture, but know that you can survive without a cell phone and might find out you can actually do other things with your time. :o)

Good Luck!
Sue

Uh, Neverready? Cool off for a bit okay? Calm down and take it easy. Okay, I reckon you should try to get a phone (prepaid) from somewhere such as Virgin Mobile (They have a few good phones very cheap) and prove that you can take care and handle a phone responsibley. Say to your mom or dad that it is very useful because you may need to use it in an emergancy or (like you) get lost from time to time. Then say that your sister may need it incase something ever happens to her. Try Virgin mobile and when the time is right, move up to a contract phone.

if your parents have to sign and be responsible for the bill(by signing that makes them responsible for it), and your sister doesn't agree, then the solution is get a job, move out, and do it yourself. if you don't have the credit, get a pay-as-you go phone. that might be the way to go anyway. and if you have a so-what attitude about it, maybe YOU need to grow up and face reality, the world DOESN'T revolve around you!!!!

and besides if you get lost alot, what makes you think you won't lose the PHONE??? if you have to aquire and pay for it yourself, using YOUR credit, you may take better care of it.

how about getting a good map instead???

besides, just wait til you have your own kids who think you owe them everything and they shouldn't have to do anything to earn it!!!! you'll see.................

go to the mall with your sister (if she's that kind of girl) and give her like $50 or something and let her buy what she wants. or just talk to your sis about how you tend to get lost, and how in these times people are getting cells younger and younger. when your sis agrees your parents probably will too

regrettably, you won't be able to, although you present day magnificent arguments for having one. the challenge with your mothers and dads argument approximately there "consistently being an obtainable telephone someplace" is bogus...while's the final time any of you truthfully observed a pay telephone? because of the fact of cellular telephones, they are virtually long gone, and you will no longer discover one next to each food market from now on...and in case you could desire to touch somebody at night, they are able to't heavily anticipate you to wander the streets searching for one. regrettably, your mothers and dads do have the main suitable say in what you could and might't have, and in the event that they are ineffective set on your no longer having one, there is not any longer plenty you're able to do. yet you could grant 2 issues. One is very of a cellular telephone to ask for a pager relatively, which you won't be able to speak on, yet you need to dial like a telephone and it may deliver a sign on your mothers and dads in case you necessary them. the different concern you need to do is to purchase some thing called a "Trac telephone" which you will %. up in very virtually any drugstore or Wal-Mart. you purchase the telephone first, after which you purchase a minutes card to bypass with it. you do no longer want a credit card, you in easy terms pay for the credit on the keep to load the cardboard after which call the 800 huge style on the cardboard to turn on the minutes. i could propose against the 2d selection nevertheless, because of the fact your mothers and dads could in all probability in simple terms take it removed from you while they found out you had it.

forget them, you can go get your cell phone right now, all you have to do is get prepaid. you can buy your own phone and pay as you go and the best thing is you dont need to sign any contracts which means you dont need your parents.

You don't NEED a cel phone. You're too young.

Get a prepaid phone for you and your sister. Or wait until you're older.
