I hear they are not good for the environment.
I am fond of them. What do you think-good or bad? Like them or hate them?

Paraffin candles are petroleum based & harmful to breathe. They emit soot & toxins and make your indoor air quality unhealthy. Your walls and ceiling become filthy with soot. To avoid these risks, burn 100% soy candles. They are made from USA grown soybeans and are a healthy alternative. They come in many different scents and are wonderfully fragrant. It's a win-win situation.

I love candles.. I love the seasonal ones.. I love Ocean Breeze and Cranberry spice. I wish I was a Candlemaker and not a baker, or I would make them all the time.
Candles are great, and as far as the environment goes, we are not so great at preventing pollution with our SUV's. Burn a candle and carpool.

I absolutely love my scented candles. I only use them in the fall and winter, because they do heat up a room. I understand how they could be bad for the environment though.

Candles are good. I remember reading somewhere about problems with some kind of chemicals in some wicks, though. I love my candles.

Good! I love candles!!! Candles are good for anything from helping out in a power outage, or making a romantic setting, candles are good for lots of things!!

Candles in moderation are not too harmful, but if you use a lot of them it could be - especially the scented and colored kind. I usually keep a couple on hand in case of emergency.

I love candles. I have them in every room in my house, even the bathrooms. Candles are delightfully romantic, and add mystery to a dark room, and they smell great!
