No, I believe it's because they are smart enough to realize that our first response would be to try to kill or entrap them so they could be "studied".
Or maybe they're just waiting for us to either destroy ourselves or evolve out of our stupidity. Evolution isn't over, and if we're the end product, this world is doomed!

There is no knowing for sure that there are other civilizations out there. But yes, I think that we are going WAY downhill. If things keep up then we will ultimately destroy ourselves.
I don't think that the nature of all living things in the universe is to destroy ourselves. In fact it is the complete opposite. Survival is our nature. It is just that us humans think we can make things so much better (new technology, bigger cities) but really it just makes it worse. We are polluting our planet, dropping bombs all over the place and wasting our only natural resources. Basically we are screwed.

We will deffinately "self collapse". It's basically inevitable. We as a world of human beings are a ticking time bomb. The question is simply when? We do things to pollute the earth we live on, the air we breathe, and the water we drink. We make enemies instead of friends...There isn't anything that can control an entire world full of people and make them change their ways. We can only change and try to better our selves.

Well.Well.Well. We , humans have not yet many living things in our planet itself , let alone other beings in the universe. Did any one know about HIV virus till a few years ago? Now they seem to have seen that.
In the couse of our lives may be the humans will meet other living things. So long you donot imagine that living thing to resemble a human you will never never recognise them as aliens. The best that you can iamgine is Speilberg`s alien.
Humans will not disappear from the earth. What is , now, slowly dying is the HUMANITY. That may die totally but something will evolve .

Yes, and if Yahoo! Answers is any indicator, the first thing destroyed will be English Grammar! You're an example of this; so is anyone who uses the word 'your' to mean 'you are'.

No. The reason is rather that the distances are so huge that interstellar travel is impractical, and unless we can find some way to upset special relativity (not lilely!), the time required is unmanageable.

Because the probability of we meeting a alien is very less. (Since there are million million stars and planets that could support life exists but seperated by millions of miles)

Probably. Today, we have the means to destroy the planet or/and ourselves, through war, pollution, and decease.
