letssay you and i get off a train, we don't know each other, but you can tell by the clothes i wear, maybe you saw the wad of cash in my wallet, but you know I have a lot of dough on me.
Anyhow, we fet off the train, and you floow me through the train station. I pass a one legged homeless man, looking like he hasn't had a meal in days, and he's begging for some money. You know i have money. You pass the guy, but you are broke. You have nothing to spare. Now the question: Would you be breaking the law if you walked up to me, put a gun in my face, took the money and gave it to the homelessman? Should you go to jail for such an action?

If you agree, that it would be illegal, then how doyou justify electing agovernment that does exactly that? They take our taxes, and give it to people that don't want to work. If I refuse to pay, armed policemen come and arrest me.

yeah, that is pretty sorry, but about 90 percent of your tax money goes to public works and military funding. on top of that, if you don't pay property tax, you join the homeless.

The two situations are not comparable. the first case is at an individual level and the second is at a collective level. the difference matters because as a society we have voluntarily given to the govt (police) sole authority to use violence against us. In a civilized society, no one else has that right. And, in theory, the police is under the public's control because they report to the govt that we elect.
But not paying taxes is a trivial thing compared to what the govt could make you do. They could draft you into the military and send you to die in some foreign land for some cause you don't care about. This is because in a democracy, majority wins and you have to live with it, like it or not. and the majority has decided that taking your taxes and giving to unemployed is a good thing.

If you flash a large wad of cash in public, you can place good odds, you won't own it very long, depending on your location. Doesn't say much for having common sense either.

Many people don't pay taxes on money they earn (IE work under the table for cash) In a sense they don't flash cash in public, because someone is always willing to steal it.

BUT... in response to your question. THE ONLY way I would steal it from the person, would be after I dropped the hammer on the gun. Someone with a LARGE wad of cash, is usually armed in many states, where the only requirement (for permit) to carry a concealed, is to carry large amounts of cash, IE business owner on the way to or from a bank.

Or maybe you might get lucky, and the guy would be the dumbest drug dealer in the US, and thought he didn't need to carry a gun.

Businessman or drug dealer...you would go to jail. Or be asking for police protection with a few hours at best.

great question, I agree with you, I wish there was a way to get those thieves out of office. unfortunately there is no hope. on the other hand the answers here just go to show you how little the public knows about our government and the illegal taking of OUR money. the money collected does not go to anything but a foreign debt that was created long ago. not 1 penny goes to support anything in this country. except for the salaries of the few that collect it.

its good to see others who are starting to realize whats going on. we now live in a police state. we have no control over whats happening no matter how we vote or who we vote for. they put people in jail for driving with out a license. in some states, you can be put in jail for not having a picture id on your person. we were in a cold war and fought communism for years, yet we support china. the irony is, people in russia have more freedom than we do. go figure.

Interesting, but a long way around to make a point that maybe does not exactly fit the bill.
