the answer is simple my friend. the answer is... none. if emo people were happy, they wouldnt cut their wrists and sing songs about all the stupid crap in life. goths on the other hand are not happy because they dress in all black and look depressed all the time. then you have the people you didnt mention... the emo goths! dont even get me started. lol

I don't know much about emo's, but from what I understand, the very term comes from "emotional", and not generally meaning happy emotions that make you want to sing and dance. I've actually been studying Goths lately (term paper!), and have learned that the stereotypical depressive mode is actually very untrue and there are many happy goths, with it being seen as a creative outlook, love of the macabre, and fashion/music/style being more important than anything else. I can't speak for emo's, I don't know them. But I'd say Goth's are more happy.
However, there are probably happy emo's and incredibly depressed/suicidal goths, and overlap into each culture.

The Goth. Emo kids just complain and whine about everything. Gothic people are just open-minded enough to look at the darkness inside everyone.

Well, I hate stereotyping, but in general, Emos are little preps who are goth wannabes. At least all of the ones I know are. I am goth and I am very happy. I actually (gasp) smile!

Ha, depends on the individual. I'm a happy goth, so I'm biased there. ^_^ But a lot of people would say goths are worse... Heh, in general they're equally depressed I think. :-P

well emos are in to hard rock music and goths are into the darker side of life so its your choice me prefer the music side of life so think emo.s are probably happier dancing to the music

Emo's are just hippies who beleive in God and Love and peace.
Frankly annyone who is completeley happy in this **** world is sick!
