I have heard reports that it was invaded by aliens, indians, and atlantians. Does any one know.

here, read this article. it tells how the area was settled and some people went to get more supplies. when they returned, the people were gone and someone carved "CROATOAN" on a tree. There have been many theories since. as for aliens... not too keen on that theory! haha!

No one has any proof of what happened to the Roanoke Settlement. The disappearance of these people is one of history's greatest unsolved mysteries. My theory is that they were attacked by the local Indians, made slaves, and were eventually absorbed into the tribe. History after this period has the occasional documentation of the rare Indian with blue eyes. Genetically speaking, this could only have happened if European genes were bred (for lack of a better word) into the Indian lineage.
