The horses' registered name is Forbidden Dance, but the barn name doesnt have to be anything to do with that. He is a gelding. I am looking for a good name, one word, preferably two syllables and nothing corny like angel or lucky. Thanks!

Hes a Registered Appendix Quarter Horse, and he will be used for hunter/jumpers but keep in mind this is a barn name, not a show name.

You should look up "forbidden" and "dance" up in a Thesaraus and see what the synonyms are for those words, that should give you some cool ideas.

I had a friend who gave her horse the stable name of "Dammit" She said then she could cuss out the horse and just say she was calling it! Otherwise......something simple like Jake, or Taxi, or maybe something from his pedigree? You might check out the baby names websites - there are some good names there.

Call him Dancer. It's two syllables and does have an association with his registered name. Rolls off the tongue, too.

I like candy names: Symphony, Hershey, Payday (especially if you are winning money on him), Twix, KitKat. Or alcohol: Jose Cuervo, Heineken, Sapporo (Japanese beer), JD, Pinto, ....

tango, waltzer, sonata, foxtrot, django, churchill, the list is endless. I reakon you should look in to his eyes and call him the first name that pops into your head. This will then truly reflect his personality.
