The older you get, the higher chances are that you will have twins... so, yes.
Your chances of having twins increases as you grow older. Women produce more ovulation-stimulating hormone as they age, increasing your chance of releasing more than one egg during ovulation. The chance of having twins rises to 4% between the ages of 30 and 34, and to 5% between the ages of 35 and 39.

My teacher's used to tell me that once you're older than 28, your chances of twins or any types of multiple births increases by two. It could be that or it just could be that you're lucky.
And you people really need to stop with the negative comments. Don't you folks have lives? It's the damn internet people..grow up.
Many congrats to you. My mom's 45 with 5 kids but I'm always bugging her for a sixth. Me being the youngest and all..I really want a baby brother. But I suppose me being 15 and my brother, the eldest, being 24, she's had enough. And my first two sisters are twins..so go figure. Congrats again!

Your chance of having twins increases with age, but I don't think by 32. Maybe 35 and older. Also, not fraternal twins, but identical. something about being older increases the chances of your zygote dividing in two, and resulting in identical twins. It's not because you ovulate more eggs (which would result in fraternal twins). Anyway, what's one more at this point?

Do twins run in your family? If you have a mother, brother, sister, uncle or long lost cousin with multiples, you may have them too. Sometimes twinning is hereditary, it's true. However, only fraternal (dizygotic twins are influenced by heredity, and then only in some cases. If your mother or maternal grandmother was or had fraternal twins, you might have inherited a gene for hyperovulation, increasing your chances of conceiving twins also.

I believe it is, but not by much. I read that the older you are, the more likely it is, because your body begins to release more than one egg some months because it knows that you won't need them all for much much longer.
I wouldn't think too much about it, unless twins also run in your family (not his).
As you know after 5 kids, you'll have an ultrasound soon, and you'll know for sure wether your having twins or a singleton!
Good luck and congratulations!

Yes it is possible for you to be pregnant with twins...
In general, twins occur naturally at approximately the rate of 1/89 of singleton births, triplets at 1/89 the rate of twin births, and so on (Hellin's Law). However, for reasons that are unknown, the older a woman is, the more likely she is to naturally have a multiple birth.

I don't see how age or amount of children you already have would affect that chance of having twins, but I think twins would be awesome. Unless, a doctor told you this, then I guess it would be possible.

I've never heard that. My mom was 20 years old with no family history of twins and with her first pregnancy she conceived my sister and I. So, it really seems like it can happen at any time. But I do want to say congratulations, and I hope everything goes well for you with the 6th.......and who knows maybe the 6th and 7th???!!!!!!
