There are two things I can think of:
#1: You aren't ready to make the changes necessary to change your life in a positive direction
#2: You ARE ready but you have a Chatty-Cathy therapist rather than one focused on results. Some therapists, unfortunately, want you to talk but not do the work to heal yourself because they make more money.
I would evaluate what you are doing in the therapy sessions, whether you are given homework, and see if your goals are being met. If not, find another one.

Finding a good therapist is key, and it is a hard thing to do. The problem is that the majority of people that go into that field are just not equipped and are extremely incompetent; more so than any other field. Group therapy may help somewhat, but don't give up in looking for a competent doctor. You should not have to live your life feeling bad. I likewise suffer from depression, and it does take time to find a good doctor. They also may suggest antidepressants; this helped me a bit. But of course that is your decision. I really hope you start to feel better.

its a confusing time and you need all the support you can get. Try some online support groups but I would look for a different therapist. We all have different personalities and somtimes we just pick the wrong therapist for us. Try asking your current therapist for a referal to another office and be upfront if she or he ask why you are doing so. Simply tell the person that while you think they are offering you some very sound advice you feel that you could better connect with a different therapist and that you are just trying to get care from a number of sources. Trust me therapist are not offened by such comments they understand that sometimes they dont have the right tools to offer a certain kind of disorder or emotional stress and you are looking for someone who can help you come to terms with your situation.
