A gift from somebody who knows me
well enough to care what they give me.
Cash from somebody who doesn't.
Unless...it's cash from somebody who
cares enough and knows that I need it badly.

Honestly, I'd rather give a gift or cash to someone I feel needs it.

If a birthday is supposed to be a celebration of your life. Why not make an effort to make yourself feel as good as you can.

When you give, by your own hand and not depending on another human being, you have received the greatest gift of all. The feeling that you have done something special for someone else...

I would rather receive cash, honestly. My family isn't to good at picking out gifts. That doesn't make me selfish or anything, but they usually don't put a lot of thought into the gifts. I don't expect my gift to be expensive, but I do expect a little thought put into it. You would have to be apart of my family to know what I'm talking about, because Christmas gifts from my family are always last minute gifts. My mother and father however, put a lot of thought into what I like. Also, I don't know if anyone has this problem, but it seems if I'm into something and the minute you tell someone in your family about it, they will buy you one for Christmas or Birthday and they will pick themselves up one to! How does someone do that? It was my thought and what I suggested and all of a sudden they want one too. I get pretty upset with no individualism in my family, but I guess that's what makes my family nuts, but I love them.

This question is right in time for my B-Day next week. Anyways, I think giving cash or gift cards defeats the purpose of gift giving not only on B-Days but on any other occasions when you give gifts. However, there is always some time in someone's life when you get something you don't want and you would've just rather taken the money. I still say gifts are better though!

Cash or a gift card. Then I can buy what I want. I give cash or gift cards as well, because I have no clue what anyone already has or doesn't have.

A gift is more personal than a cash.

If the person knows me really well, a gift is lovely. I always get the best gifts from certain people. Others who don't know me so well don't choose great gifts for me, so money is also nice. Although money just ends up being used for bills. Bummer.

An actual gift means that they put some thought and effort into it and cash or check means they just said, "I give up. You decide what you want."

I would rather recieve a gift.To me that is a little more personal and takes a bit more effort than someone merely handing me cash or a check. However, money is a good thing, but i would rather recieve something even if it was homemade or wasnt of much "face" value, but sentimentally it is worth millions.Have a good night sweetie.
