THANK YOU! You are my heroes, my wife's heroes, and I will teach my baby daughter who are REAL heroes are (NOT teachers, like myself, though we might serve as role-models).

We do NOT owe it to the anti-military, anti-American, anti-democracy, anti-President (Bush OR Clinton) parts of our country to remain silent so we won't "offend" them. Any offense they feel are their own responsibililty.

We don't owe them our silence.

Our soldiers have entered into an agreement with our government (us, all of us) to defend our country. Part of that contract is that we support them in their efforts, not undermine them with rumors and slander.

THANK YOU for speaking up, and know that we'll stand by those who also do so.

We're proud of you, all of you, and those who aren't?

Do you really need their thanks? Are you really doing this to defend the people who undermine our Presidents and country? If they're thanking you, and I was you, I'd start wondering what I was doing wrong... .

I'm one of those people that Burn Notice would classify as a liberal( moderate but since not a conservative republican) and I support and respect our military. Always have always will. Grew up around vets and worked with many when I was in the fire service. My support and regard for the US military is what led me to be dissatisfied by the way the wars were handled by the previous administration and leave me watching how it is handled by the current admin. Where I live you find many that are unhappy with the war in Iraq/Afghanistan but I never encountered any sizable number of people that hated the US military. But then again where I live has 2 reserve units in the area and early in the conflict one of the soldiers that was captured, tortured and murdered by insurgents was from a nearby town. As for the chatroulette thing... I wouldn't put much stock in it, so many people claim to be this or that on the internet that it's hard to take it seriously when someone says they are without proof.

Thank them for what? What do U.S. soldiers go through that's so horrible and mind-blowing? They sign on out of their own free will, that's one thing - you can't get conscripted in the U.S. They're relatively well paid. Their work is hard but they have good food and warm beds to sleep in at night. How many have died in Iraq, in the whole duration of the war? A paltry 3,000. That's nothing. Compare that to Iraqi casualties, which no one even knows. The Iraqi Health Ministry says 175,000 have been killed. The Lancet says 655,000. And the American president, exercising his right to political lying, puts the figure at 30,000, which even the most wishful investigator would not believe. That means 5 to 200 Iraqis have died for each American casualty - and we're talking about civilians, people in their everyday routines who are shot dead by coalition troops or stabbed to death or electrocuted by Iraqi militias. What does Iraq have to thank America for? Pumping the murder rate up from 15 to 3,000? Please wake up. This isn't an epic, or some fairy tale of heroism and liberation. Iraq is suffering much more immensely than it was under Saddam Hussein.

Yes. Well, at least take time everyday to pray for them.

For the past 2 years, I've had my cub scouts write letters and draw pictures for a marine battery in Iraq. We took them to the National Guard armory for a send-off.

Now my 9 year old goes around saying BuRah. Speech issues.

It's about or past time that the American citizen wakes up ,,,,, Thank God the trend today is to thank the troops for their efforts and sacrifice ,,,,, All three years and two months as a special forces operative in Viet Nam got me was spit ,, humiliation ,, rocks,, garbage ,, degridation ,, labeled baby killer and war monger ,, and all other kinds of vile crap ,,,, Americans have woke up to the fact that like us ,,,, you are just following orders ,,,, That's all we were doing ,,,, This war we are in today makes no more sence than the one we were in though ,,,, But thanks for your efforts anyway ,,,, I think every one realizes that you'd be there if the need was real too though ,,,,, Luck to you ,,,,,, Yoda said this ,,,,

I do have respect for soldiers. They don't get to pick and choose the wars they fight. They don't get to quit if they don't like the stress. They don't get to accommodate their families when deployed overseas.

Regardless of our political affiliations, most of us respect the men and women in uniform who keep us safe and secure.

Should we thank them daily? Although we don't: yes. So for any soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen (veterans too): thanks from a grateful nation.

YES, I have RESPECT for my fellow servicemembers -- especially as a Military Retiree and a sibling to those STILL SERVING ... and we, as Americans, SHOULD THANK the Servicemembers and Veterans for their Service that allows us to live with the freedoms we enjoy.
