Try staying away from meade until their internal corporate troubles clear up.
You may end up with less technical support if things go badly for them. But the quality does not wane from it.

Depends on what you want it to do, and how much you want to spend and how long you're going to keep the telescope.

The second telescope provides about 30% additional brightness because its mirror is 130 mm vs 114 mm for the other telescope.

Otherwise, the two telescopes are from the same family of telescopes with identical controllers and mounts.:

Both have the SmartFiinder, which sounds pretty cool, since it's supposed to be able to find alignment stars automatically, based on your zip code and its internal leveler and compass.
