Those liquids don't work. A plumber can fix the problem for about $55.00. You can too, for a little less. Go to the hardware store and get yourself a pipe snake. Somewhere on your home will be an external access point for the drains. Find it. Open it and run the pipe snake into it and, turning the handle, clean out all of the clogs. If you don't know where this access point is, hire the plumber ONCE, watch him do it, and then do it for yourself later.

Also, think about buying some little screens to put in your drains - that will stop the problem once the pipes are clean.

We always use "Muriatic Acid", but be careful, it is very toxic and may eat through your pipes if they are really old. It eats through any gunk down in the drain. Also, plunge and plunge until you hear some movement in the drain. Plumbers are VERY expensive just to come out and see what's wrong, then when they fix it, it's usually so much an hour, like $100 and hr.

Would you rather wake up one day to find sewage had backed up all over your floor, & leaked through to the lower floor(s)?
Call a plumber. If he can't fix it with a few minutes work, they can call in a video inspector. They send a video camera down the pipe & see where the problem is from inside the pipe. Saves a lot of ripping, & tearing, & guess work, & money.

You might try putting a gallon of bleach down your drains once a week. Buy the cheapest bleach you can get. In fact the cheaper works better. This has worked for me for the last 20 years. I should also let you know it work best when done just before you go to bed at night. That way it "sits" in your drain for a while.

Liquid drain openers are only a temp fix at best. If you can take off the drain trap and try cleaning it out and see what you get. Also pipes long horizontal runs without correct drop are prone to this.

you need to clean out your gooseneck. That is the curved part of the pipe under the sink or tub. Loosen and immediately tighten each side to get comfortable with it before you take it all apart so you will know what you have to do to get it back together or know if you have to get a professional. Whatever you do, make sure you can put it back together before you take it completely apart. If members of your family need to use the sink or tub, make sure to tell them you are taking it apart and give them time to take care of their business as you may have it in pieces for a while. Turn off the water before you start taking it apart so you will not get yucky water all over you while you are working with it. Good luck and don't get in over your head!

That will eat thru your pipes. Is it a bathroom sink? If so try pulling out the stopper. Usually, this has hair and other gunk stuck to it. Remove, reinsert and the drain works wonders.

pour straight bleach down the drain and let it sit for an hour or more. It will dissolve clots. You can try a drain snake, you may be able to rent one. Its a long cable you run down the drain and through the pipes to try and dislodge any clogs.

I use the proffesional draino stuff from Lowes or Home Depot. It works better than the stuff at the grocery store.
