For circle track dirt you will want one that makes the most power between 2500 to 5800 rpm with solid lifters. I would consult a good race engine builder before I bought one. (or the cam manufacturer)
Your compression ratio, heads, intake & carb will need to be considered for the exact cam you will need. I found that if you have to run a restrictor plate, a milder cam is usually a better choice.

comp cam 275/277 duel energy hydraulic camshaft rpm range 2000-6000 rpm intake.468/ exhaust.488 lift with 1.50(comp) rocker arm's( superior high end power) with !hi-rev! hydraulic lifters get some edelbrock aluminum head's(summit) edl-60899 and moroso 7 quart, 8 1/4" deep oil pan+pickup high-volume pump (summit)ses-3-60-08-540 ... holley 750H/P D/P K+N stubstack + K+N air filter size??? (on my car the k+n is 5"out of the hood) and some good elec's/ MSD-6AL.... good luck

That depinds upon what the engine will be used for.eg. a rock crawler needs a low rpm with Hi torque or drag strip needs hi RPM
