I am going to the doctors this week. I have a knot that has become uncomfy the past three months (one year after my c-section). I hope nothing is wrong. I feel it under my skin like it's on the uterus itself. It becomes tender a couple of weeks before and a week after my cycle. I'm not certain what it is and if it's something they have to take out, how do they? I am scared of needles and being put under. Any ideas what it could be and how do they remove knots?! Thanks so much!

Most likely it is a scar tissue. If you are not comfortable with it, a plastic sugeon can help you out. If the knot is a small one, the removal will be done under local anaesthesia (you are not put to sleep) and takes a few minutes with minimal bleeding. Anyway, your doctor is the best person to consult regarding this matter.

As long as the area is not red, swollen or have any kind of discharge don't worry. Sometimes shelters use vets from multiple practices and they may not all use the same kind of stitches. The type of stitches depends on whether it's a kitten or an adult; a male or a female. The animal shelter should have known and told you to bring her back to have the stitches removed. If you don't know how to remove stitches you can still cut just the knot off. That way the loop won't get caught on anything and your cat will be less likely to pull at it. Call the shelter up in the morning. You shouldn't have to take her to your vet. That will cost you money for something that should have been covered by your adoption fee. The shelter will arrange for you to bring her in or take her to one of the vets they work with for no charge. Hope this helps.

Or it could be as simple as scar tissue. My little girl developed a small knot at the sight were she received stitches under her chin from a fall. The doctors said it was scar tissue and was normal, she also told us to rub it several times a day and it would eventually go away. After 3 months it was gone.

Might be something as simple as an ingrown hair that just got lodged in the scar. Been there and had that. Good luck and hope whatever it is that it is easily remedied.
