This phrase comes from a time when men fought wars on foot; two fighters would stand back-to-back covering each other so the enemy couldn't stab either one of them in the back. If you "have someone's back" you are both very close to that person, and willing to fight alongside them to the death. Of course, the closeness and willingness to really put yourself out there for your friend is the sentiment that survives today, for the most part. I don't have a quoted source, but I have read so many novels on these times that I believe the phrase must come from that situation.

It means that you are gonna watchout for them. For example, lets say John (fictional character) doesn't like Mark (fictional character). Lets say that the both are gonna fight. And you are John's friend, and you tell him you got his back. That means that you are gonna watchout for him and help him fight Mark.

I guess it originated from when someone is surrounded by a group of enemies, and the other guy who is helping him has his back by making sure no one is attacking from the rear side of the guy.

Hope this helps, and hope you are not gonna be in a fight.

It's street. It only means that you will back them if something should go wrong. Not necessarily a smart thing but if it were your best friend or your son or daughter you would back them without hesitation.

it means no matter what happens you can count on the person i.e. the one who has your back, to be there for you. Exactly like a trusting relationship, just another way of saying it just less emotional sounded.

It means they're willing to back you up on a matter. For example, if you need someone to agree with you on a matter that's unbelievable, they will admit they were there too, If you in a fight and they need back up there "got your back."

It means whenever someone's in a jam or in trouble or they're short of money, you watch out for that person just as if they watch out for you. Feel me??

It means to support them. It is often used to mean you'll back them up in fight or dispute either verbal or physical.
