This is a reference to two movies. Boo Radley was a character in To Kill A Mockingbird. He was believed to be a monster by most of the townspeople, and was never seen. In fact, he was very shy and spent his life hiding in his house. He seldom, if ever, spoke. He was played in the movie version by Robert Duvall.

"Having a Boo Radley moment" was a line in the movie Benny & Joon. Joon says it to Sam when he stares blankly into space.
