Instead of just ginger, try ginger ale and gingersnaps. If it is severe talk to your doctor about Compazine. It worked miracles for me. You should try to eat a bit while you are still in bed.

The only thing that I could also eat was apples like the woman above. Crackers would make me sooo sick. I was nauscious all day long as well, I tried the morning sickness/sea sickness Seaband. It's a bracelet that is supposed to reduce the sickness by accupressure, but it did not work for me. Preggie Pops also did not work for me. Actually nothing did.
But, I would suck on sour candy all day long, like Lemonheads, and they seemed to make me feel a little better. And when I would wake up in the morning, I would immediately drink a huge glass of water. These are the only things that gave me some relief.
I also ate small things all day long. When I was hungry, it made me more sick.
Hopefully your sickness goes away soon. Mine is just starting to go away, but for some people it can last the whole 9 months. Good luck!

All I can say is that I'm 16 weeks pregnant and most likely it will end soon. I was so sick during my pregnancy that I really couldn't keep anything down. It was horrible, I had to run out of my Kindergarten classroom all the time to go throw up in the toilet. I hated it when people told me to eat crackers and bread because they all sounded way to dry to me. I lived off of fruit basically and fruit smoothies (I would get them at Jamba Juice with protein boost and other boost.) You might want to try something like Slim Fast if you can keep it down, but don't try if you don't they you can. I'm sorry you are going through this. I just got over my morning sickness last week and I keep forgetting I'm pregnant now because I really do feel better.
Just stay hydrated, my doctor wasn't too concerned about my sickness and my weight loss because it is very common. Good luck

Im sorry your feeling so sick. I got sick when I was 6 weeks and it lasted all day long. Im just now getting over it and Im 19 weeks. It was the most terrible thing. This is my 4th baby too and nothing at all helped me. I can give you some ideas, but no guarantee they will help. Nothing helped me except a prescription from the doctor and even then, it didnt help that well. But I bought Sea bands(they ahve them at wal mart, wal greens, etc) I bought Preggie pops. You can go to their website. www.preggipops.com, and I ate crackers and ginger ale like you. It didnt agree with me either. And I took emetrol which is fine for pregnant women to take. People told me not to eat large meals, because it would make me sicker, but the thing that did make me feel better, was to eat a full meal. It was hard to figure out what to eat, becuase nothing sounded good, but full meals helped alot. Dry bland foods made me sick. Like toast. Seemed like just the opposite of what people say , made me sick.Just ask your doctor and see if they can help you out.

Dry crackers/dry bread (or even sandwich bread ) these help to absorb the stomach acids for upset stomach - I've heard from many women who said keeping the crackers by the bed and eating a couple before you ever sit upright helps- -have you asked your doctor about suppositories - also you shouldn't go too long with out eating anything because your body really needs the vitamins etc and also you will become very dehydrated (kidney failure) see your doc if it gets too bad.
I'll pray for you

ugh, your taking me back to a place I don't want to be....I feel for you. I can remember luke warm weak tea, animal crackers, plain bread and fruitee popsicles. The best advice I got was to try to constantly eat. It sounds crazy and sometimes you don't want to but if your constantly putting something into your mouth you will keep some of it down. Good Luck.

i remember when i was like that around 7 weeks, it lasted until i was about, 12 weeks? i think, well just eat things that are comfortable with your stomach, anything you can get down right now is perfect. my doctor told me that when you are that early during pregnancy you can basically eat anything you want, anything that will make you feel better, but its when you get in your second trimester that you have to start eating healthy. try pudding, jello, things that dont have much of a smell to it, and avoid peanuts, those made me gag... so bad with morning sickness

Ihave heard lemonade works. For me it was Frostys from Wendy's. I feel your pain. It's so horrible. The worst is trying to hold down a gazillion ounces of water when you go in for an ultrasound.
I forgot.....frozen cherry pie, tuna sandwiches and mashed potatoes. And also the person who said dont' let yourself get hungry....I think that works.

lemon worked for me (about 90% of the time): whole slices, in tea, in hot water. just the smell was soothing.
sometimes oranges as well or different flavoured crackers, some time plain, sometimes salted, sometimes with sesame seed etc.
best thing is to experiment.
