I don't think it is weird at all. I live about ten miles from a Native American casino and last night, they had their Halloween party and costume contest. A couple hundred adults were dressed in costume, having a grand ole time. Some of these people were older baby boomers too. Since you are new to your school, try asking someone you trust if this school dresses up for Halloween. If it does, there might some rules about the kinds of costumes for security and safety and you would definitely want to find those out.

You could take the safe approach - and ask some of the kids at your new school if they dress up and what they do for Halloween. However - my gut feeling is - just go for it - dress up. Life is too short to not have fun. I still dress up - and I am 51 years old. LOL

Happy Halloween.

No, it is not weird if YOU want to dress up! Please don't pay any attention to what anyone thinks about it. Just have fun!!! Girls always want to dress up and have fun and Halloween is just another excuse to have fun! The people who would say anything probably want to dress up too, but are just going along with the crowd and saying it's not cool. Look at grown women: we still love to dress up and put on make-up! It's just fun! My daughter dressed up tonight for a church function and some of the kids her age (14-15yrs) made comments about her dressing up and then she felt weird, when she was only having fun. That made me so mad. Why do kids have to ruin someone else's fun? Anyway, she doesn't want to go trick or treating, just dressing up and having fun and someone always wants to ruin that. Just dress up, have fun and don't worry what anyone thinks!!!!!

Dressing up is fine...it's the trick or treating that is a little immature.
I see alot of people of all ages dressed up parading around town on Halloween DAY and night. I think it's fun to see!

No I have seen kids , teens and teachers dress up in public and highschool.

Unless the school says not to for some reason. Most of the time they announce it and stuff and try to get people to dress up. Nothing wrong with it and its sometimes funny , cool and sexy.

well....what's your question. to dress up at school, or while trick or treating?

At school: Definetely ask your fellow students if they usually do it, or better yet the principal. If yes, you definetely dont wanna embarass yourself so maybe wear something light...such as a school girl or a witch. Dont be too "in the spotlight", since youre a new student.

For trick-or-treating: Yes! ofcourse its ok. Be as crazy as you can be with your creative costume...afterall its only once a year ;]

hope that helped
