The core 2 Duo is the best. It even does more work per clock than any AMD processor, so ignore the comment about AMD. FYI I am personally still getting an AMD though because they are more friendly with linux. They help out with the gcc. EDIT -The link above with the c-net article puts AMD against a Pentium D witch AMD is better than, but the Core 2 Duo is alot better than a Pentium D and is faster than AMD.

kanis is flat out wrong, I mean literally he just saying somthing that is completely false. Anyway the Core 2 Duo would be better, newer architecture, higher front side bus, and dual core.

The new AMD dual-core range is honestly better than either - sorry, never been a particular fan of Intel
