80 to 85. The reason for this is because their arm is not fully developed and their mechanics are no good yet but once they get training and they understand the art of pitching their speed increases and their mechanics make them more of a complete pitcher just as a piece of coal can become a diamond so can a high school pitcher become a Greg Maddux.

its very hard to say because in high school there are pretty much four groups of pitcher, good pitchers that have above average fastballs, good pitchers that have above average curveballs, players that the coached asked to pitch because they throw pretty hard, and people who try and pitch but cant really... so I'd say there average mph goes from 82, 72, 75, 70 so from that i'd say anywhere from 72-77mph, but i wouldnt be suprised if it actually was around 80mph...

I've faced pitchers who throw mid-80s and equally effective pitchers that threw 70. For varsity pitchers i'd say it's about 82, for jv about 73, for both about 76...

average fastball speed is mid to upper 80's
