Did you get any good pics? I took a good one of the one that hit Bowling Green in 04. Any Va. tornado sights?

I don't have a picture. It hit the BUILDING I was working in while I was in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1989. The ceiling ducts and internal fans went crazy, moaning and howling, then I head what sounded like a car crashing into the back of the building and then everything died down.

The tornado had "ticked" a corner o the building and knocked some bricks down and caused some radical alternations in the air pressure of the ventilation system. Then it was gone.

Tornados are unusual in Virginia (most are associated with hurricanes or one-cell thunderstorms on the Chesapeake Bay). But, yes, we have them (particularly around Richmond in September of 2003 when that hurricane stalled over Richmond and there were thunderstorms throughout central Virginia).

Been caught in a tornado. i've also seen water spouts on the big lake. i have seen the destruction that all of these leave in their path. it is sad but nature is very beautiful from afar sometimes.. that tornado was enough for me. it caught me by surprise. i hadn't checked the weather and got caught right in the middle of it. i had to try and drive away from it. i did succeed to an extent. it caught up with me 50 miles from where i was. it then did a whole lot of damage in other counties in my state. very wicked ,,,,
