I have tried plugging in my digital camera usb cord to the front usb slot and also my sony bean mp3 player but it doesn't register on my computer. What do I do to get these working?

iwith ur . digital camera.you can use .da 1394 firewire port all you need is da. cable for it that if ur digital camera has a 1394 firewire port on it .connect to 1394 port at back or try cinnected digital camera to one of .da usb ports at back of pc restart pc then windows will find that it is connected and set up an install for it, if you cant fix this give dell a call

It sounds like they may have failed to plug in the cables to the motherboard, if you're up to it, crack the case open and look for loose wires (of course you will have to plug them into the correct jumpers lest you can fry the ports). Do the rear USB ports work? If not they you may have a problem with your USB controller on the motherboard. If it is still under warranty, Dell can fix this but you could also fix it yourself but then again, if you aren't PC hardware savvy, best to leave it to the professionals, I bet Best Buy could fix it for you but they'll charge you for it.

Hmm. Do they require software to be installed on the computer before it will notice them? Make sure you have all the software that is needed installed. Next check and see if the USB is working by going into device manager. If not go to dells website and ask there in the support.
