Jan, I can understand your confusion.
Yes, the abbreviation for a Personal Computer is PC.
The Apple MAC is a PC.
Dell, HP. IBM, Gateway, etc are all PC's
But to differentiate between a Windows or OS/2 (IBM)-based PC and a MAC, the PC term was associated with the aforementioned and the MAC ...well... is a MAC..(thank GOD!)
Hence MAC vs PC.
Now to confuse you even further, not all computers are personal computers, there are mainframes, midranges, and supercomputers. A PC is a computer that can be placed on a desk.

Yes, a Mac is a PC strictly speaking. But, it is generally accepted in the computer world that when you say PC, you are talking about a computer that is running Winodws and uses any off the shelf hardware and motherboard.
A Mac on the other hand runs OSX and uses specific hardware and specific motherboards due to limitations and hardware restrictions in the OS itself. You can call a Mac a PC if you wish but don't ever say it to the face of a Mac owner.

Yes, your wrong. A PC is made by Microsoft and they call it a PC. Apple makes the Mac and we call it an Apple. PC does stand for Personal Computer but if you call a MAC a PC you would be wrong. You would call a MAC an "Apple".

Well macs are nice because they always work perfectly out of the box. But there's pretty much no way to upgrade them so in a couple of years you can't just add RAM or hardrive. PC wins for gaming hands down. You can run windows 7 in xp mode, it makes it alot faster. But I don't see how you can only get 30fps. Maybe you have a bad monitor, maybe you need a faster CPU, or it might simply be lag, maybe even a power problem. I have close to the same specs as you but VISTA, not even 7, and I can run almost any game perfectly.

technically, yes, you're wrong. :p
a pc (personal computer) is generally used tor refer to the IBM platform for computer, the ones that run windows. macs (macintosh) on the other hand run macintosh operating systems.
their main difference lies on their motherboards, processors and the machine language that lies inside them to process computer instruction.
