what is something that can be overwhelming?

i just need and example of something overwhelming...im writing a paper and i need a good simile

depends on the person and how they react to things.
it varys from person to person...
to one something as little as an interruption could be overwhelming and stressful (as crazy as it may sound),
and to another.. they can just take a whole lot more to a certain point where they finally find it overwhelming.

umm to answer your question further, stress can be overwhelming, expectations and pressure, like most people mentioned... a loved one passing away, finances, relationships, not being able to accomplish a goal... mhmm. its just really the way you see it.

but if you think about it. overwhelming can be a positive thing as well, love can be overwhelmingly wonderful :)
so thats something different to think about.

The giant pile of laundry waiting for me when Im lazy during the week. Actually, I was pretty overwhelmed when my mother told me that I had at least 17 more years of school after I told her I hated kindergarten. I'm out of school now. Now I'm overwhelmed with how long I have till I can retire on easy street.

When you try to answer what you will be when you graduate, and have not given it enough thought, then you can choose a career field that is not right for you.
You may stay with your choice, just because you don't want to think that you are allowed to be selective, and turn against what others think you should study, should do this, should do that, and should never study.....to be a doctor...or serious research!

.....this tends to overwhelm you.I f you don't think that your choice can effect the choices of college courses, and never really feel that you are accomplishing your dream.

Can you really dream and wish .....higher than you believe...higher than you think....higher than your experience...right now....can you really be great????

Something that is overwhelming to a child with ADHD is getting a HUGE assignment or a whole stack of papers that need to be done.
I always had to break my son's assignments down into manageable increments so he could cope.
