Are you thinking of tuk-tuks? These aren't actually rickshaws, but are powered by a bicycle with a bench seat for two in the front. They're in places like Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar

â¡I have to agree everyone who said 'Jinrikisha' - it means "man-powered-vehicle", called a "rickshaw" in English. It's usually a two-wheeled, hooded carriage pulled by one man.

ï½If you mean thisâ type of 'rikisha'

I've just heard them referred to as 'motor-rikisha'.
I'm not sure if they have any other name for it though.
I've heard about the 'bicycle type' as well. No motor there thoughâ

ï½Here in Japan I've personally only seen the 'man powered' jinrikisha.
But that doesn't mean the motor type doesn't exist!(*^o^*)
Hope this helps!â¡
