Is it lame for a nearly 16-year-old (me), a 15-year-old, a 17-year-old and an 18-year old (my best friends) to go trick-or-treating? Are we too old for it? We fully plan to dress up appropriately and be nice and stuff, not cause any trouble. We just like candy. Are we too old? We're gonna also party it up at my house afterwards, trick-or-treating isn't our only plan.

My dad went trick or treating one year.. he dressed up in old worn work cloths, face mask, knitted cap, and a shot glass. We had just moved into the neighborhood, and he thought it would be a funny way to meet the neighbors. (I was 18)
Dad came home HOURS later, and definitely feeling no pain..

Some might say you're a bit too old, but heck, go for it, and have fun. There's more then enough time to leave it all behind.

kgirl has a good point, don't be hard on her!

Ok sadly I have to say your getting to the point when you should think about staying home or doing the house party thing... However as someone else has already said escorting your siblings gives you a freebe as does taking your children like I intend to do... I am 34 and let me tell you that I am all about the trick or treat... enjoy and happy halloween

Frankly, unless you're escorting your younger siblings, I think you're too old. My last trick-or-treat trip was when I was 13. Once you're in high school, it's time to be the ones handing out the candy to help out your parents, or to have a party with your friends, not to be out collecting it. An 18 year old definitely has NO business trick-or-treating.

If what you really wanted was validation, why didn't you just say so? ... and really, why do you need validation from a bunch of strangers on the internet?

The age varies with different people. I say if a person can afford to buy the candy themselves, then they are too old to trick-or-treat.

I think that is abit too old to go trick or treating. Believe it or not, it's can get mighty expensive buying candy for the lil ones that come around. When you have limited income, you tend to feel abit put off that candy is going towards older kids, then to the younger ones. Why not each buy your own candy bags, and have a grab bag type of party that everyone chips into?

There is never a time to stop trick or treating, unless people stop giving you candy altogether. Getting one piece of candy means you still can trick or treat!

dude your never too old. as long as you dress up and show you put effort towards the holiday and arent just there to get free candy, people will appreciate the fact that you still have the heart of a kid who loves the holiday. don't listen to nay sayers. go for it if you truely dress up

It's tough to say because of all the variables but if I have to throw a number out there I'd go with 16 years old.
