This is not a trig identity. You are given tangent 245 degrees.

Keep in mind that tangent is positve in quadrant one.

They want you to find another tangent angle located in quadrant one that will equal tangent 245 degrees.

If you use your calculator, plug 245 and then press tan.

Now, do the same thing for tan 65 degrees. Tan 65 degrees in located in quadrant 1.

Answer: tan245 degrees = tan65 degrees.

use tan(pi + theta) = tan (theta),

tan(245) = tan(180 + 65 ) = tan (65)
