Wet frozen faceclothes and wet stuffed toys (not big ones smaller flatter ones)
Also you can heat about 3/4 cup oil with three cloves in it for about 10-15 minutes on medium. Let cool and then spread on the gums. It is supposed to help. At worst it tastes bad.
Gripe water is great for the stomach upsets, hiccups, and whatnot from teething.
Before they have any teeth I use freezies (unopened) because you can get a tonne of them for almost no money and if they defrost in 5 minutes who cares you have 20 more! After they have teeth they could break the plastic.
Some people do frozen bread/bagels/biscuits or fruit. If you are already feeding these to your baby then you may want to try them frozen. Course it will make a mess.

Girl, when I read your entry - I thought I had typed it, lol. My daugther is the same age and is going through the same thing. All of a sudden she stopped sleeping through the night. Anywho, we tried an old wive's tale. Take your baby's sock and place an egg in it. (yes a raw egg) and hang it over the door of the room where your baby sleeps at night. This is supposed to eliminate the symptoms. Ours has been haning since she was 4 months. Her symptoms are not as amplified, but we are experiencing the cold, cough, fever, loss of appetite, etc. Not sure if its working but we didn't have anything to lose. We are just being patient, this is just one of the minor pains of growing up. We freeze a wash cloth and then let her chew on it, she loves it better than the teething ring.

with my son I found that if I brushed his teeth/gums a couple of times a day with no toothpaste on the brsh that helped him. Some say that if you freeze fruit and give it to your son not only does it ease the pain it also gives him a healthy snack. At times I will give him an arrow root cookie and that seems to help because he actually has to chew on it but these have worked for me. Teething timed is so much fun lol

I froze a banana and put it in one of those mesh bags. He loved it. I also use Motrin as the baby tends to put his fingers in his mouth and rubs his eyes. I worry that the orajel will get in his eyes. I also make sure I brush his teeth. I think it toughens up their gums so teething won't be as horrible for them.

There's a homeopathic product made especially for teething. A drugstore should have it. My niece uses it and says it helps some. But I dont anything will totally relieve his pain.

There is a homeopathic dissolving tablet you can give him. It has been a while but I believe the name of it is Rylands teething tablets. You can buy them at Wal Mart and health food stores. Worked great for my first child and so so for my second.

Relax! He's just a baby! He'll soon get used to it. Also, use hypoallergenic free diapers and wipes. These will help him have a good night sleep. Or, check out this site http://www.upkb.com/diapers.php for more tips and details.
