I would stick with a PC because there are more programs customized for it.

Tough query... Macs are particularly safe and final a at the same time, nonetheless now not many systems are suitable with the MAC... PC, is extra universally suitable however a lot more inclined to system faults and viruses... in case your watching for a well private pc, I'd move mac, but when you're watching for anything to serve a precise motive, you may also desire to head PC... Price may also be an limitation... PCs could also be low-priced, however upkeep can also be luxurious, wherein as macs will final lengthy with few disorders, however are way more luxurious. In phrases of consumer friendliness, PCs are very intricate to determine, wherein as macs are almost always without difficulty understood and used.

I've been in the same situation.
I was about to get a new computer, but i didnt know which one.
A Mac? They look cool, but almost no games and limited software availability? And expensive? I dropped that idea for a while.
Then, the other day, i was working on my old Windows system. All of a sudden, it crashed. I couldnt restart it. It had a virus. I had to reformat my Hard Drive. I lost all my data. All my music. All my pics. All my school documents.
I was so pissed off because of that, that i blindly bought a Mac, because i had heard the new machines run very flawless and safely. And i haven't been disappointed till now!
I recommend: Buy a Mac! You'll take some time to adjust to the new OS and find all the software alternatives to Windows stuff, but it's really worth it!

The New Mac that's out ( G-4 ,I think ) Will allow you to run Windows or Microsoft programs on it, however a price tag in the $ 2,000 dollar range is a bit much for me. I have a mac and a PC and I like the Mac better. It's all about what you want or need so you decide.

It really depends on what you want & need.
There are Mac lovers and PC lovers.
I would access your needs, desires, budgets and what you plan to use it for. PC windows machines can have more problems but you can customize a system rather easy. A new video card, cpu, monitor, hard drive etc. Go to Best Buy , Compusa and look to see what software you might need now and in the future. See if its available for the Win and Mac platforms. I have to admit Apple is getting better. I remember when you couldn't buy any software or hardware unless it was made by Apple.

Get a Mac. You won't regret it. Mac OS is a very well-designed operating system, and is far more stable and easy to maintain than any version of Windows.

I see that others have said that Mac software is hard to find and expensive. Neither is true; in fact, Mac OS X can run a lot of free software originally designed for Unix.

Also, Mac OS is essentially free of viruses and spyware, and is likely to stay that way, since it has a better security model than Windows.

For me it really depends on the user. First if the person is already familiar with the Apple Tiger OS & peripherals like mouse , etc. Then Apple is the one for you. But if you are like the mainstream users. Windows or Linux OS familiarity. It is a culture shock. The availability of software running in Windows OS are endless but in most countries Apple apps are not only few, difficult to find but very expensive. I've used an Apple Mini and an iBook before and hated it. I went back to PC. I can do anything with the PC. People will say Mac is the best. OK fine but for me PC is the defacto standard. Good luck in choosing. Try them both out first and you be the judge.

Once you go MAC, you never go back. I have a MAC. I have the new Intel Core Duo, so I can use it as a MAC and a pc. I can run Windows on it and install all pc programs. You can play any game on it.

Mac is waaaaay better. I got a PC and would change it for a mac anyday. But, there are a lot of games and programs that don't work for mac. So, if youre going to play games and such stick with PC.

If you plan on playing games go with Windows. If you want to edit movies, use photoshop, or make stuff in Maya or 3ds Max then get apple.

Neither is better. Right now mac is virus free mostly because windows is more popular and so virus makers dont waste their time on mac or linux. When mac gets more popular, as it is currently doing, then it will get virii so dont buy a mac just for that reason.

There are very few games for mac so if your a kid then dont get a mac.

IMHO (In My Humble Opinion), Macs are better. I have an iBook G4, and it works great. I love it. I use the PC rarely. I also find the Mac easier to use. Also, Macs have less of a vulnerability of getting spyware and viruses. In fact, any computer that connects to the internet has the chance of getting spyware and viruses. So yes, it is worth getting a Mac. Hope this helps,
