tabbed browsing is the ability to switch between internet explorer viewing panes without having multiple windows opened. It is over hyped, but can become quite useful. for example, you can look at a page that has a lot of interesting links that you wan to look at. hold down the ctrl key and click on all the links you would like to view, and they will pop up in other tabs, good for viewing without having to move between windows or retrace links. it also is useful to have more than one homepage, for example i have google as my homepage, but i also have my mail open in another tab so that i can easily check and send emails immediately after opening my browser. It really is personal opinion over whether tabs are good for your style or not.

If you're in Internet Explorer or Firefox, hit CTRL-T. It will look like a you've opened a blank page. Near the top of the window you have two tabs - one that says "Yahoo! Answers" and the other that says "Untitled." If you click on the Yahoo! Answers one, you'll be back to this question. You can also hold your Control button down when you click on a link and it will open that link in a new tab. It's like having several browser windows open, but being able to see easily what each one is. It isn't earthshattering, but it is slightly easier to manage than opening several browser windows.

Tabbed browsing isnt really a great feature. Basically its been hyped up. In a nut shell instead of having things in the windows bar at the bottom your different browsers are grouped inside one browser and you select the one you want just below the address bar. I use it all the time now but i didnt think i would back before i had it.

I use Maxthon, which has tab browsing. It basically puts all your internet windows in one interface, and you access them from tabs across the top. Also you can have the same windows come up every time you start up.
